What's Happening at the Peninsula Community Library

Special and regular programming is offered throughout the year.
The new Peninsula Community Library opened September 7, 2019 to much excitement from the community. The rural library moved from its home at Old Mission Peninsula School where it had functioned since 1957, into its beautiful new farmhouse style building.  1000 visitors walked through its doors in the first two days.  To a community surrounded by orchards and vineyards, the new library is fast becoming a true gathering place for all!  
Special programming is offered throughout the year.  Check our calendar!  Our "regulars" include:
Story Stew:  A preschool story hour offered on the first and third Fridays of the month at 10 a.m.  The third Friday includes free books courtesy of Born to Read and Twilight Rotary.  
Just Bee Yoga:  3-5 year olds enjoy an hour of joyful stretching and mindfulness on the second Wednesday of the month at 10 a.m.
Reading Therapy Dogs:  Coco and Lani love to listen to young readers on the first and third Mondays of the month from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.
THREADS:  Bring along a project - knitting, needlepoint, crochet, etc. - and work among friends every Monday at 10 a.m.
Chapter Chicks:  Our mother daughter book club meets for fun discussion, book themed crafts and snacks and friendship every other month on the second Saturday at 10 a.m. Books are available on a first come basis at PCL.  Meeting months are February, April, June, August, October and December.  
Pageturners:  Our adult book club meets every month on the third Thursday at 1 and 5:30 p.m.  Books are available on a first come basis at PCL.  All are welcome! 
Gentle Yoga:  Yoga for patrons of all abilities happens every Thursday at 9:30 a.m.  A small fee is payable directly to the instructor.
Grief Support:  Co-sponsored by Munson Healthcare Hospice, this group offers a warm heart to those suffering from grief and loss.  They meet on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 2 p.m.  
French Language Group:  All Francophiles, fluent and beginning, are invited to gather on the third Saturday of the month at 11 a.m. to converse in a friendly and social environment. 
Tuesdays with Tim:  Local history talks are offered by Tim Carroll and guests on the fourth Tuesday of the month.
