About Us
Friends of Peninsula Community Library is a dedicated group of volunteers who value the presence of a top quality library here on Old Mission Peninsula and volunteer their time to promote and support the Peninsula Community Library.
Friends of Peninsula Community Library is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that raises funds in order to support PCL beyond its operating budget. We are a member of the Friends of Michigan Libraries organization.
The group's mission is to raise funds for the library, but also to provide the community with ways to stay connected by having fun and making friends. We are fund-raising, fun-raising, and friend-raising!

How do the Friends of PCL raise money?
Membership dues and generous donations from PCL patrons are a big part of how we raise funds. We also host several fundraising events throughout the year including the Annual Used Book Sale, Annual Art Sale, Fall Fundraising Gala, commemorative brick sales for placement in the garden (see below) and much more.
Money raised by the Friends of Peninsula Community Library goes towards maintaining this vital community asset in the form of capital improvements to the library, adult and child activity bags, newspaper subscriptions, holiday community events (Santa!), purchasing items for the PCL Library of Things, funding improvements to the Children's Garden and other requests from the Library Director.

New Friends are always welcome! Your membership dues go directly to support the library. Membership is open to all and comes with no commitment. However, there are many ways to get involved and volunteer opportunities if you are interested! Members are welcome at quarterly meetings held in the Library Community Room.

Friend $15/individual
Friend(s) $25/household
Lifetime Friend $100/individual age 75+
For individuals 75 years and older, lifetime friend memberships are available for a one-time donation.
