Just for Kids
Peninsula Community Library is a great place for kids! Come check out our collection of books, music, movies, games and puppets. Play with our puppet theater while you are in the library or catch a passing boat in the telescope at the window with a view of West Grand Traverse Bay! When school's out, we almost always have a craft or two out on the tables. Make something to take home. Check our events calendar for program details.
It's reading fun for preschoolers on the first and third Thursdays of the month at 11 AM with Story Stew. Stories, crafts and songs fill this hour long program for little ones in the library. When school is out, older kids are welcome as well!
Girls in the third, fourth and fifth grades are invited to join us with a special adult for our Mother Daughter Book Club. The Club meets bimonthly on the first Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m.
Super Super Saturday programs are scheduled sporadically to showcase special themes and are fun for the whole family.
Play our Wii during the winter months on the second and third Saturdays of the month from 10-noon. In the summer, we will be happy to set it up on any quiet day!
After you have checked out the library, be sure to stop and play on one of Old Mission Peninsula School's two great playgrounds or walk our nature trail which leads to a pond full of chirping frogs and other pondlife. Once the snow flies, you are invited to use our GREAT sledding hill! Be sure to come on into the library afterward to warm up - we might even have hot chocolate on the burner!
PCL is a great place to spend a part of your day!
